Archive for Me Too Shoes

How do i keep them in good condition for a long time so i won't have to keep purchasing new ones? I've worn Capezio for the longest time, ever since i started pointe shoes, and somehow the shank gets really soft and too bendy really fast. I'm wering Capezio chasse right now, and its already really soft, and i already have purchased another pair of Capezio glisse pros and haven't worn them yet. What do you suggest???

a) Pointe shoes die after heavy use. I once wore a pair out after a day, and when I'm seriously training, I average a week and a half. If you're dancing a lot, that could be it, and there's nothing to do about it except talk to your shoe supplier about bulk discounts.

b) You might have weak feet. If you sink a lot, and use your shoe to hold you up, this could do it. I have this problem when I'm being lazy or when my feet start hurting. Do you have high arches/naturally pretty feet? Do you get a lot of ankle or foot injuries? If you do, this is (sadly) likely. More work on foot strengthening, or get harder shanks – or both.

c) Your shoes don't fit you as well as they could. You might have the best fit possible out of a selected pool (ie, you got the best fitting shoe at your local dance shop), but it might not be perfect for your feet. Try other shoes, worrying about how they feel, not how they look (a lot of girls buy shoes that flatter their feet but are totally wrong for them).

d) You break your shoes in too much before wearing them. Don't do the whole banging them with a hammer/in a door thing. You don't need to break them in overnight so you can wear them onstage.

e) You're not caring for them properly. Let them air between wearings, don't store them in your dance bag, and don't store lambswool or gel pads in them when they're drying.

I just want to know how many shoes yall have, especially women. I am addicted to shoe shopping and so far, I have about 50 pairs of gorgeous shoes and running out of room in my closet. When is it considered a lot??

Stop now! You're way over the limit!

I have a pair of espidrilles – the out side is canvas but they are lined in "man made materials" meaning a fake leather-ish type material – and they are a little tight / narrow. How can I stretch them out (without having to buy some shoe stretcher things…)?? I know leather shoes stretch easily when you moisten them and stuff w/ newspaper but I tried that and they haven't stretched.

let someone with a wide feet wear it 4 a day..

I have a bunch of old shoes that are way to worn out to give to Goodwill or a charity, but I hate just throwing them out. Is there any group out there that takes them and recycles the parts or something like that?

Why not put them out by the trash can late at night. Maybe a hobo will find them.

Or does the jumpsoles and strength shoes work all of your leg muscles? I just don' want to have tone calves but my quads and hamstrings are very weak increasing the chances of injury.

Its good to work out your whole body. In fact great upper body strength plays a big part in getting a high vertical jump. It doesn't matter if you train every muscle at once or separately, just as long as you do train various muscles to keep up a health body.

I used to have some Adidas shoes. Nothing special. I ussed them for running and wore them basically everywhere else. I just got a pair of Asics Gel- Equations for running. I don't want to wear those for casual shoes, but my old ones are torn up and smell horrible! How can I convince my mom to get me new casual shoes? What are some good reasons/ excuses?

Tell her that running shoes should only be worn for running. If you wear them too often they get worn out and can cause injuries. Depending on how often you run, how many miles per week, you should get new shoes. Running 5-6 days a week, you should change your shoes about every 3 months. By wearing them more often that 3 month span will be shorter. Just let her know that getting a cheap pair of casual shoes will prolong the life-span of your running shoes. Running shoes are more expensive anyways, so you don't want to have to buy them constantly.

Basically just tell her you want to prevent injury and save money by getting a cheap pair of causal shoes.

I hope this helps, I know how important a good pair of running shoes can be.

i've only worn a pair of shoes for no more than 2 to 3 months and then there dirty and ruined! i want my shoes too last on be damage and all that crap. how should i take better care of my shoes when i walk too shoe everyday with them?! help? (tips would be very nice here)

Don't drag your feet. Make sure you pick your feet up when you walk. Stay on pavement. Clean them with a soapy rag every couple days.

They kinda hurt too, like when I point my foot up and down, it hurts alot quite a bit, but they are bran new Mad Rock shoes and I dont know what they should feel like.

There's actually an easy answer to this one. Your shoes should be just tight enough so that when you grab the front part of your shoe, you find it hard to rotate it about your foot. If you find that you can rotate your foot a little inside your shoe, it's not tight enough for good edge holding. In other words, you'll find yourself rolling right off critical edge holds on rock, and you don't want that. Of course, you could achieve this by buying a shoe 2 sizes too small and forcing them on, like what Cinderalla's sisters tried to do with the glass slipper, but then your feet will probably die. Take the time shopping for exactly the right fit.

They did not have my size and this was the prettiest pair of shoes in the store. Did I mention that they were on sale too?

You can stand barefoot on poison ivy or fire ants and wait until it start to swell or you can connect your brain before go shopping.

I have been dieting and have lost weight, a couple of dress sizes smaller which I am happy about but now my shoes seem too big and slips off of my feet when I walk. All of my 8.5 sizes now feels too big. Is it possible to lose weight in your feet? Can your feet shrink? This is a little unheard of to me especially since the feet do not carry much fat like the rest of your body.

Whether feet shrink or not during dieting is nothing to question about, since your feet have already shrunk, so the answer is obvious. They can shrink.
