So i was going order some over the internet. I usually wear Adidas or saucony for the wide toe box, but since i had kids and weight 15 lbs. heavier, my feet have spread and gone up a size. I have always had high arches and can’t wear most basic brands of shoe for that reason. Just looking for recommendations. Thanks.

I just got a pair of New Balance and had to go a full size larger. I make the time to take the trek (a two hour trek) to the shoe store 2x a year to get fitted and when I have the perfect shoe, I order the second pair off the web. It’s luck of the draw when buying online.

Has anyone ever heard of this? If it is true, Which New Balance model is it?

Some of the New Balance Shoes are very good for Plantar Fasciitis. You need to stick above the 700 series and plan on spending about $80.00.

If you are avg. weight look for the following.

Running: 768, 858/859, 1223/1224.
Walking 844/845, 811

If your heavy set get the running 1123, or the walking 926.

When i put a slash like 858/859 it is becuase the 858 is out now and the 859 will be out soon.

Both NB and the Asics have good shoes, definitely as good as the others. Pick the ones that feel the best to you. Make sure they have good arch supports though: jump up and down flatfooted to feel which ones do the better job.

any new balance running shoes are ehh at best. try looking into asics. i have bad knees and asics gel shoes offer a lot of support. or go to your local sporting goods store and ask them for recommendations on a good shoe.

Depending how often you wear those particular shoes, I think so. I wore mine everyday to work beause I also had a stand up job, as well as getting foot gaurds I would replace them every year at the longest. Your feet will thank you!

I've been using my New Balance running CW472wps for both running and walking. I find though that my shins (preff my left shin) gets shin splints very easily when running in these shoes. Should I go for another style?
If it helps to know, my weight is 145 height is 5'8 age 23.

In my opinion New Balance shoes suck. Get a pair of asics and put a gel insert in the heel. Asics have good arch support and a nice toe spread but they lack good heel cushioning. I swear by asics.

I like the retros myself. They are not only comfortable for walking and mild exercise, but they are freakin sweet looking too. Try the 574s I believe.
